Step 1: Prepare the Work Area and Locate Your Garage Door Opener Battery
- Prepare the Area: Ensure your garage door opener is easily accessible. Clear any obstructions or, if necessary, move vehicles out of the garage.
- Locate the Battery Backup: For ceiling-mounted openers, the battery backup is inside a compartment on the side opposite the antenna. For side-mounted openers, the battery compartment is at the front, facing you.

Step 2: Access and Remove the Battery

Step 4: Install the New Battery
- Partially insert the replacement battery into the compartment.
- Connect the red (+) and black (-) wires to the corresponding terminals on the replacement battery.
- Fully insert the battery into the compartment and reattach the panel.
- Tighten the panel screw using a Phillips screwdriver.
Step 5: Charge and Test the Battery
- Plug your garage door opener into the outlet to begin charging the backup battery.
- Allow 24 hours for the battery to be fully charged.
- After 24 hours, unplug the opener and test its operation to confirm the new battery is functioning properly.
