Common Questions

Start by selecting the material: steel is a classic, affordable option, while aluminum or wood offers a more modern or upscale appearance. Next, choose a design style, such as modern, classic, raised panel, or carriage house. Finally, select the color and finish that best complement your home, and consider adding optional features like insulation, windows, privacy glass, and decorative hardware. Learn more about garage doors.

When choosing a garage door, the goal is to find a door that not only looks great but also complements your home's overall aesthetic. You should also consider the local climate. For example, in a coastal area, aluminum or wood may be a more durable option than steel due to salt air exposure. Learn more about garage doors in coastal environments.

We offer a wide range of designs, including classic raised panels (long and short), contemporary flush, plank, full-view glass, carriage house, Spanish-style, and shaker (recessed). Fully customizable options are also available for custom wood doors and unique home designs. Our finishes come in a variety of styles, such as smooth, woodgrain, and wood-look. For wood doors, you can choose between paint-grade and stain-grade finishes. Learn more about garage door designs.

We offer clear standard glass, tinted (Graylite 2), white and black laminate, obscure, and frosted glass. Additionally, double-pane glass is available for custom doors.

Standard size, classic steel garage doors can usually be supplied within a couple of days. Intricate designs and custom garage doors may take up to 10 weeks to be supplied.

Faux wood garage doors are made from durable steel, making them far easier to maintain than real wood garage doors. They can be lighter in weight and generally less expensive to repair and upkeep over time.

Wood and aluminum garage doors are known for their durability and resistance to corrosion, rust, and damage from salty air. In addition, they provide a distinctive, upscale appearance and can be customized to complement your personal style and your home’s architectural design.

Regular garage doors are constructed from a single material layer while insulated garage doors have an additional layer of insulation. The insulation helps to reduce energy costs, control the temperature, and reduce noise. Learn more about insulated vs uninsulated garage doors.

Poly-back (or 2-layer) garage doors are constructed from an exterior layer of steel and an interior layer of insulation, while the insulation material left exposed. Steel-back (or 3-layer) garage doors have an additional interior layer of steel which seals the insulation.

Although steel back garage doors are more expensive than regular or poly back doors, they are stronger, more resilient, secure, durable, last longer and deliver quieter operation.

Our door’s R value ranges from 10 to 18. A door with a higher R value is more expensive but provides denser insulation which allows for better noise and climate control. Learn more about R value and energy efficient garage doors.

Yes. A damaged garage door section or panel can usually be replaced without replacing the entire door. However, you’ll need to know the manufacturer and model number to ensure the replacement matches your existing door in construction, design, and color.
