In reply to will. Hello, some remote remotes work better than others. Try to get a LiftMaster OEM 893MAX remote, it may work better. Otherwise, it could be a receiver problem or some kind of interference.

I have an old Craftsman (green button).

I recently bought replacement remotes. (I admit they were the least expensive 2/10). they seemed to work from about 40 feet. after a week the range dropped off to not work unless in the garage. I replaced a battery seemed OK, and again after a week, the range dropped off.

Did I just buy a really cheap remote and should I get a better one?

In reply to Al. Hello, Based on your description, it seems you can't try again immediately and must wait a period of time after each attempt to operate your garage door. It suggests that a component inside the garage door opener unit is interfering with the frequency.

ALL my remotes (including my built into auto) do not close the door after it was just opened, from close distance (inside the garage), unless I let a period of time lapse to retry- then any of them work again. No LED or CFL bulbs, only incandescent used. My antenna wire is not curled, but hanging straight down (pretty much). My safety beam sensors are properly working. Seems like its fine initially using any Remote, but does not like a follow up to close the door. LiftMaster, 18 yrs old. Tracks oiled annually.

had a new garage door installed. It’s a lift master. The man who installed it doesn’t know the reason that the remote in car only works inside the garage. The hand remote works outside the garage door a few feet but not like the one did with the old garage door. It’s all new just a week ago.

I have 2 garage door openers with remotes and Home link buttons in my car. One opener works perfectly with either the remote or Home Link button. The other will only work with the remote when I am inside the garage or with the key pads. I have reset the opener, reset the Home Link button, and pulled LED bulbs from the opener. What next?

My garage door is opening by itself.. I have new remotes and it just opens by itself…
